unlike the intended ‘perfect’ retouched fashion image,
these images explore the extent of the reworking
that is involved to produce such an image. these
corrections form a pattern of individual elements that
function in a related way. transforming the body into a new
vessel, a distortion, vacuous of it’s natural form.
this work discusses the portrayal of body image by fashion
imagery and it’s effect on young women and men.
the seduction of the fashion industry is paralleled by
the negative expectations this imagery carries.
these works aim to reveal the fabrication involved
by deconstructing the bodies form. exposing just how
much the face and body is being transformed
distorts the origin of what is the desired.
